November 29th, 2022, saw the MLS Team Support Transplant Sports officially launch the 2023 Westfield Health British Transplant Games in Coventry. The launch looked ahead to the multi-sport event taking place in July of 2023, which will bring together over a thousand transplant athletes, Live Donors and Donor Families from across the UK. MLS are once again organising the Westfield Health British Transplant Games on behalf on Transplant Sport.
MLS Director John Timms is reprising his role as Event Director for the Games, overseeing the 15 strong MLS team who plan and deliver the 5 Day festival of sport (Over 20 Sports) and competition. The games will bring over 1000 competitors, 1500 registered supported and over 250 volunteers head to Coventry to compete for their transplant hospital teams.

The launch event took place at Square One, The Hub at Coventry University, gathering stakeholders, sponsors, donor families, and transplant recipients to celebrate the gift of life and ignite the flame commencing the countdown to the 45th annual Games.
The Games aim to raise awareness of the life-saving benefits of organ donation and encourage transplant recipients to stay active post-transplant. Transplanted athletes ranging from the ages of three to eighty plus, from over 50 hospital teams across the UK will represent their Transplant Unit with the support of family, friends, and volunteers to compete in the Games. Over the Summer the games where hosted in Leeds which received over £2 million Direct Economic Impact from hosting the games and a media reach of over 3.3 Billion!
